Chicago Children's Museum

The Chicago Children's Museum is an excellent, highly engaging venue for children, but it lacks on-site kosher food and is located in a busy, secular tourist area, requiring extra planning for Orthodox families.

The museum is highly suitable for children ages 1-10 with diverse, hands-on exhibits that are perfect for a Chol Hamoed outing. However, there is no kosher food available on-site, and while Navy Pier has many dining options, none are certified kosher, necessitating that families bring their own food or plan to eat elsewhere. The environment is family-oriented and modest, though it is a public, secular space with high foot traffic. Staff should note that Navy Pier can be extremely crowded during holiday periods, which may be overwhelming for some families, and parking/logistics can be expensive and time-consuming.
